Looking for offence

I've just had someone ask me if I look for reasons to be offended.
Well, I guess, as an LGBT and equality activist, maybe I do, but I don't have to look very far to see examples of discrimination against my community.

Scoutadelic!

Wooo, I'm famous!

I was finally convinced to do an interview for Scoutadelic on my story of transition and scouting!

Oh, and don't forget to subscribe :)

Time for the Raspberry Pi

I've been using a Raspberry Pi as a dashcam for a few days and the first problem I noticed was the time. Whenever it powered up it would reset back to the same time, resulting in overlapping data files for each startup!

Raspberry Pi dashcam

I've been after a project to make use of a Raspberry Pi for a while, and finally settled on trying to create a dashcam for my car that I can control, both to record video to contribute to OpenStreetMap, and as a general dashcam.

Gender and government's recognition of such - A letter to my MP

Hello George Hollingbery.

My name is Deanna and I live In Whiteley, POXX XXX and you are currently
my representative in parliament.
As such, I would like to ask your opinion on something that concerns me.

Recently, there was a petition for the UK government to update their procedures and policies regarding transgender people and official recognition.

Gender self determination and the UK government

There is currently a petition going around to ask our government to allow people to self identify rather than have many interviews, checkups, poking, prodding, and forking out money for the government to change a flag in a database.
They have responded with essentially "That's the way it is".

Pride

Occasionally, I get asked why I attend Pride parades.
Pride was born out of the fight for equality, both equal rights and equal treatment. Even in just the LGBT sense, neither are universal yet.

After 28 years, I've just been kicked out of local Scouting.

After 28 years, I've just been kicked out of Itchen North scout district.

Comms Data Bill and privacy

Today, the Lords discuss adding an "amendment" to an already huge bill.
This amendment? It consists of guts of a previous bill that has been read, reviewed and declined by a group of MPs and Lords as unsuitable and inappropriate, raising many concerns, none of which have yet been addressed.

Transgender and Scouting

I've been an Explorer Scout leader in Itchen North, Hampshire since around 2006, after coming all the way up from Beavers.
Around about 13, I became consciously aware of some gender confusion in my life, feeling like I should have been female. Needless to say, I kept this to myself as I had no idea why, or if anyone else had similar thoughts. Looking back, there are lots of feelings and things that have happened that now make sense.
